Trick or Cosplay? Assist Wig’s Wicked Wig Night

Halloween came early last night as Cherry-Jelly Productions and Anime Jungle hosted an event called “Trick or Cosplay? Japan’s Assist Wig Sale and Exhibition – Wicked Wig Night -” to promote Japanese cosplay wig store, Assist Wig.

A gathering of dedicated cosplayers came out to Los Angeles’ Anime Jungle store in Little Tokyo to share their love for cosplay as well as check out exciting cosplay events including a cosplay accessories exhibition and sale, cosplay fashion show, cosplay contest, and even a photo booth too.

Special guest Ayumi Fujima, who is a professional stylist for Assist Wig, put on a special live cosplay tutorial demonstrating Assist Wig’s virtually un-tanglable wigs, wig tools, cosplay props, and cosplay dedicated shoes. Ayumi is a popular cosplayer in Japan, having appeared on Cosmode’s cover twice and represented Team Japan at the World Cosplay Summit. She spoke about her life as a cosplayer and her job at Assist Wig and also answered questions about cosplay, wigs, and otaku lifestyle.

It was a very fun and unexpectedly educational cosplay themed evening had by all who attended. The event went on until the late evening and there was a sense that even after the event was over, that no one wanted to go home. Cherry-Jelly Productions really did a bang up job bringing out and promoting authentic Japanese cosplay lifestyle. Like their Facebook page to get info on their next event. We can’t wait to check it out!
